How long does the funding approval process take?

Proposals are reviewed under the Smartlab governance framework, involving relevant stakeholders and decision-makers. In addition, to ensure fairness, confidentiality, and to minimize potential conflicts of interest or other risks to the initiative, the proposing party has the right to indicate in advance any individuals or units they wish to exclude from the proposal review panel.

Who decides whether an initiative gets funded?

Depending on the initiative type, Smartlab may fully fund or co-fund activities to reduce risk for business units while ensuring accountability.

Does Smartlab fully fund initiatives or only co-fund them?

For PoCs, the maximum funding limit is USD 15,000 per PoC. This cap is designed to ensure Smartlab can support multiple new PoC initiatives while also maintaining a reasonable level of commitment and ownership from the proposing team in executing the PoC.
For other types of investment requests within Smartlab’s funding scope, there is no fixed funding limit at this stage. Each proposal will be reviewed individually, and the level of sponsorship will be determined based on the expected investment effectiveness and potential business impact.

Are there minimum or maximum funding limits per initiative?

Yes. PoCs and accelerators sponsored by Smartlab will be centrally stored and shared through the HQ Presales repository, allowing teams across the organization to access, reuse, and build upon these assets. This helps maximize the value of each investment by enabling broader adoption and avoiding duplicated efforts.

Will there be a shared repository of Smartlab-funded PoCs or demos?

Sales teams are encouraged to engage Smartlab as early as possible, especially when:
